Membership Meeting
November 13, 2023
Commander Gladue conducted opening ceremonies and declared Post 146 regular monthly meeting convened at 17:08.
The charter was draped in memory of departed post member Leonard D. Odea, Sr.
Roll call was taken, quorum was met.
The October Minutes were distributed and approved as corrected.
Commander Gladue gave the Executive Committee Report. Rick Baldwin moved “to accept the Executive Committee report.” The motion was adopted.
Guest(s): Commander Gladue introduced Rob from Pestigo, who is a member of The American Legion considering transferring to the Menominee Post. Jan Lepinski introduced Frank Wells, who has been a member for a long time and is now wanting to be more active at the post.
Dick Pier gave the Finance Report. Jan Lepinski moved “to accept the Finance Report, subject to audit.” The motion was adopted.
Commander Gladue read the Bar Committee report given to him by Tillie. It was brought up that two of the bartenders were being paid $12/hour and the other bartenders are being paid $15/hour. Pay needs to be approved by the Executive Committee, which was present. Dick Pier made a motion “to increase their wages to $15 per hour.” Seconded by Rick Baldwin. The motion was adopted.
Kurt Lepinski gave the membership report. We are at 67.42% of goal.
Commander Gladue gave the activities report. Christmas Parade (11/18), Christmas with the kids (12/2), Army/Navy Football Game hosted by SAL (12/9), Cash for Christmas raffle drawing (12/21)
Athletics: no report
Gary Scholtz gave the House Committee report. Wally gave updates on the lighting conversion project.
Rick Baldwin gave a report on Legion Riders. Upcoming event: Blessing of the Bikes June 1st. Riders meeting Dec 28th with pizza.
Julie gave the Auxiliary report: Christmas Ball Raffle starting after Thanksgiving until Christmas.
SAL: no report
Deborah Knernschield gave the service officer report.
New Business: Jan Lepinski gave a presentation on Recruiting Talking Points and passed out “Why You Should Belong” brochures. Menominee Football in Finals.
James won the drawing.
