Regular Membership Meeting
June 12th, 2017
Prior to the meeting, Callie McMahon discussed the possibility of a Casino Night Fund Raiser for October 14th. No action taken – scheduled for agenda item July meeting.
Charter was draped in honor of John Paidl and Frank Kordish

Commander Fifarek conducted opening ceremonies and declared Post 146 regular monthly meeting convened at 1700 on 6/12/17
Roll call was taken, quorum was met
Minutes from May meeting were read and approved.
Financial Report was read: Balance forward $ 13092.43
Income $ 4255.02
Expenses $ 3434.37
Balance $ 13913.18
Approval motioned by Gary Scholtz, seconded by Dave Herold - Motion passed
House: No Report
Activities: Memorial Day Breakfast 159 people were served. Net Profit 650.00.
Family Rec Day – Net profit $588.22 (The new 146 sandwich made net $139.49)
Over 200 kids were served for free – at a cost of about 1.49 per meal.
Membership: 2018 Dues start July 1st.
Kitchen: Conducted Spring Cleaning.
Working on different ways to put in Broaster – will brief Executive Committee next meeting.
Club: Considering accepting credit cards
Still waiting on back bar and sinks.
Bartenders working on getting Certified by State of Michigan.
Thanked Bill and Lynn for attracting great crowds Thurs and Fridays
Riders: Put 54 flags out on Memorial Day.
Need a new Holiday flag for the big flag pole.
Will be replacing a few of the street flags – a lot of them are unserviceable.
SAL: No report
Aux: Asked about the emblems for the South side of the building. House is looking into it.
Downtown: No Report
Athletic: Thanked everyone for the spaghetti dinner – was a great night.
Special thanks to Dave Herold for running the raffles during the evening.
Wednesday night will be Legion Baseball Family Night – Please attend.
Steve Fifarek will be throwing out first pitch
July 12th will be the M&M game. Legion personnel will be manning the food booth. Looking for volunteers.
July 15 & 16 Menominee will be hosting the League Championship
Americanism: Mike Grenier has assumed the role of Americanism Chairman. No Report
Correspondence: Nothing of significance.
Unfinished No Unfinished Business
New Business: Congrats to Don Hudon for winning the U.P. Legionnaire of the year.
There will be a zero tolerance for people bad mouthing/bashing people at the bar.
All Fundraising events will go through the Executive Committee – To include Aux and SALs.
Commander will oversee Janitorial Duties.
There is zero drinking outside. No Cans or see through glasses. Use solo cups when
working in booth.
*Motion made to request authorization from city for an easement to extend landing and
permission to build A permanent food stand (motion made by Chernetski/Nutter).
*Motion made and passed (Chernetski/Smith) to host the Fall Conference (2nd Weekend in
October)
*Motion made and passed (Durrow/Nutter) to throw our name in the hat to host the 100th
Legion
Anniversary/Summer Convention in June 2019
